Kentucky State Penitentiary, Eddyville


Built in 1886, situated near the Tennessee border, Kentucky State Penitentiary is known as death and ghost machine. Thousands of men have been executed in the prison’s electric chair, known as “Old Sparky.” Modern inmates and guards reported strange orbs, footsteps, voices, disembodied screams and other hair-rising experiences.


X Cave - Carter Caves State Resort Park, Carter County


X Cave at Carter Caves State Resort Park located in Carter County, Kentucky, is said to be haunted by two Cherokee Indian lovers - warrior Huraken and chief’s daughter, Manuita. When the cave was reopened, the bones of two Indian bodies and silver artifacts were allegedly found, but later lost.

Bourbon  Inn, Louisville


The Bourbon Inn in Louisville, Kentucky, is believed to be haunted by the spirit of the nanny of the family that lived in the building in the late 1800s. Visitors to the Inn have reported seeing the apparition of a woman on the stairs.


White Hall, Madison County


White Hall near Richmond in Madison County, owned by Cassius Marcellus Clay, is said to be haunted by the ghosts of Clay, his former wife, and his son. White Hall was where Clay was born, as well as where he died in 1903.


Waverly Hills Sanatorium, Louisville


Built between 1924 and 1926, Waverly Hills Sanatorium, tuberculosis treatment facility, is said to be haunted by nurse who hung herself, little boy and patients who died during treatment. Paranormal activities, such as hearing voices in empty rooms, ghosts caught on video, strange scents, and unexpected physical sensations, have been reported for years.


Octagon Hall, Franklin County


Built between 1847 and 1859 for Andrew Caldwell, is reported to be haunted by Edward - a soldier, Mary Elizabeth Caldwell - 12 years old daughter of owner and civil war soldiers who died and buried here.

Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville


From Harland Sanders to Muhammed Ali, Cave Hill Cemetery is the final resting place for famous residents of Louisville, Kentucky. Visitors have reported unexplained sounds, footsteps, different orbs and unexplained lights at night.

Old  Talbott Tavern, Bardstown


Old Talbott Tavern is allegedly haunted by Jesse James and mysterious woman. Patrons have reported seeing items moving on their own, things disappearing and re-appearing, shadows moving quickly and vanishing. Visitors have heard doors apparently open and close of their own accord, footsteps and strange sounds.


Liberty Hall, Frankfort


Built in 1796 by John Brown, Liberty Hall, is said to be haunted by three primary spirits including Ms. Margaret Varick, aka the Gray Lady; Spanish opera performer who mysteriously disappeared in 1805; and young lad at ground-level window with a forlorn.


Camp Taylor, Louisville


Camp Taylor was once a military camp named after General Zachary Taylor. During the Camp's time as a military site, Camp Taylor was devastated by the Tuberculosis, and bodies were said to be stacked from floor to ceiling. Camp Taylor is said to be haunted by ghostly soldiers; blond woman in a blue Victorian-era dress; and a young girl.
