1. The Driskill Hotel, Austin

Built in 1881 the Driskill Hotel holds a dark history and is said to be haunted. One chilling tale involves a bride who tragically took her own life in Room 525 after discovering her fiancé's betrayal. Her ghost is linked to the scent of roses and melancholic violin music. Other spirits include a resident who died by suicide in the elevator shaft and a child who fell to their death. Some even claim a painting of a little girl holding a bouquet of flowers in one and hand and a letter in the other is haunted.

2. The Hotel Galvez, Galveston

Built in 1909 Hotel Galvez in Galveston is steeped in a chilling history marked by haunting tales that linger within its walls.  Meet The Love Lorn Lady; Audra; a heartbroken bride-to-be in the 1950s chose the west turret of Hotel Galvez to end her life after learning of her fiance's fatal shipwreck in catastrophic storm. Though she used to rent Room 501 her lingering spirit now mourns in the 5th floor and desolate west turret forever bound to haunting echoes of her tragic demise.  Guests and staff have encountered various paranormal activities including disembodied voices apparitions of children playing and doors opening and closing on their own.


3. The Alamo, San Antonio

The Alamo a historic landmark in San Antonio is steeped in the tragedy of the Texas Revolution. In 1836 a small force of Texan defenders led by William B. Travis Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett famously held their ground against the overwhelming Mexican army led by General Santa Anna. The battle ended with the massacre of the Texan defenders solidifying their place in history and leaving a lasting impact on the site. The Alamo is said to be haunted by the spirits of the fallen Texian soldiers forever tied to the place where they met their heroic end. Visitors have reported hearing whispers in the halls seeing apparitions of soldiers.

4. The La Carafe, Houston

Founded in 1910 La Carafe stands as a celebrated dive bar in Houston known for its lively ambiance both in spirit and essence. Patrons recount encounters with spectral woman in white attempting to push them downstairs while others witness her haunting presence strolling along the hallway towards the stairs. Eerie echoes of children playing resonate on the second floor and the legendary spirit of ex-bartender Carl materializes in the second-floor window vanishing after being sighted.  His resonant and thunderous voice echoes through the entire building serving as the night's conclusive "last call" to all who listen.

5. The Emily Morgan Hotel, San Antonio

The Emily Morgan Hotel once a renowned hospital until 1976 converted into a hotel in 1984 harbors eerie tales especially on the basement 7th 12th and paradoxically the 14th floor. Visitors recount ghostly encounters flickering lights and nurse apparitions. The basement holding the crematorium and morgue remains the eeriest. The 7th floor is haunted by a bride's ghost vanishes into walls occasionally appears in mirrors and screams at 3 AM. The 12th floor echoes with ghostly hospital sounds. The 14th floor technically the 13th but officially omitted to avoid “bad luck” is haunted emanating the lingering scent of medicine from its past as a surgical area defying superstitions.

6. The Baker Hotel, Mineral Wells

Built in 1929 the once-luxurious Baker Hotel fell into decline during the Great Depression closing in the 1980s. Abandoned yet notorious it's a favored haunt for ghost hunters its eerie ambiance fueled by reported paranormal activity. Even in its prime the hotel was plagued by ghosts spirits and suicides. Founder T.D. Baker's ghost is a common sight while the 7th floor harbors the spirit of his mistress who tragically ended her life by jumping from her 7th story window.
Dark tales also recount a cook's murderous affair with a maid resulting in a stabbing and a haunting in the hotel's history as “The Legend of the Bloody Kitchen”. A spectral bellhop completes the roster of the Baker Hotel's ghostly residents.

7. The Tavern

Staff at this historic bar on West 12th Street and South Lamar Boulevard refer to the paranormal presence as Emily, the Tavern’s resident ghost. Emily was a sex worker when the Tavern used to be a brothel during Prohibition, until tales say she was killed by soldiers. The Tavern staff say she makes her presence known by knocking things off shelves or walking around upstairs.

8. Historic Bowers Mansion, Palestine

Situated in Palestine Texas the Historic Bowers Mansion a 140-year-old Victorian masterpiece and Texas Historic Landmark conceals a dark history of death murder and suicide. In the 1950s the owner Mr. Bowers tragically murdered his wife Mary and took his own life as police approached the home. Locals believe the tormented couple along with other unfortunate souls linger as spirits in the mansion. Over the years the home has witnessed a multitude of mysterious deaths.

9. Littlefield House, Austin

Despite its enchanting appearance resembling a fairy castle the Littlefield Home in Austin conceals a darker side being reputedly one of the most haunted houses in Texas. Allegedly haunted by Alice Littlefield the former mistress known for her reclusive nature during her lifetime her spirit is said to linger. Witnesses frequently report sightings of her wandering the upper floors and hearing the eerie sounds of her playing the piano.

10. Magnolia Hotel, Seguin

Erected in 1840 the Magnolia Hotel in Seguin is renowned as one of Texas' most haunted establishments. Allegedly inhabited by at least 13 spirits the hotel is a hotspot for paranormal activities.
