The Ernest Baxter Fite House is a historic residence in Hamilton, Alabama. Designed by Weatherly Carter, who had designed what later became the Alabama Governor's Mansion, the house was built in 1927\u20131928 for Ernest Baxter Fite, then a member of the Alabama House of Representatives and a former state senator. Ernest's son, Rankin Fite, served two terms as Speaker of the state House.

The house was built of brick in a Colonial Revival style. Four doric columns frame the front portico. The main entrance is in the right third of the portico. The house contains 17 rooms split between 2 floors, including 6 bedrooms. It was listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1992 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Because of Winn-Dixie is a 2005 American family comedy-drama film based on Kate DiCamillo's 2000 novel of the same name, with the screenplay written by Joan Singleton, produced by Trevor Albert and directed by Wayne Wang. It was produced by Walden Media and released by 20th Century Fox. It stars AnnaSophia Robb (in her debut film role), Jeff Daniels, Cicely Tyson, Luke Benward, Dave Matthews, Eva Marie Saint, Courtney Jines, B.J. Hopper, Nick Price, Elle Fanning, Harland Williams, and John McConnell. It premiered at the USA Film Festival on January 26, 2005 and was theatrically released on February 18, 2005. It received mixed reviews from critics and earned $33.5 million against a production budget of $14 million. It was released on DVD and VHS on August 9, 2005, by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
